Guiding Principles

Imagination and Play

Great stories well-told, intentional play, imagination, and time with nature feed children’s innate love of learning.

Purpose-Driven Learning

Students do their best work when it has meaning and purpose. We provide ample opportunity for students to connect with community members and experts to solve real-world problems with a real impact.

Collaborative Problem-Solving

The hard work, struggles and risk inherent in student-directed projects are welcomed. Mentors help students interpret and learn from the problem-solving process, building resilience, perseverance, collaboration, and critical thinking skills.

Tailored Approach

Flexibility in meeting the unique needs of our particular group of children outweighs dogged adherence to a particular learning philosophy or curriculum.

All Faiths Welcome

Our children’s beliefs are ultimately stronger when they have opportunity to build relationships and healthy dialogue across a wide range of viewpoints.

Partnership with Families

A good co-op focuses on providing experiences that are difficult to accomplish at home. Families have opportunities to connect with one another and grow their support network.
